Events

Here's a video of all the events explained.

Jumping - Stand with two feet together and jump.  Measure the distance between the starting board and closest body part when landed, and record.
Balancing - Stand with a bean bag on your head and touch the ground.  Then stand up again and repeat as many times as you can without dropping the bean bag.  Count the number of times the child is able to touch the ground and stand up without dropping the bean bag in one minute.
Running - Measure a distance of 10 meters and time how many times each student can run back and forth in one minute.  Each leg of the run is 1 point, there and back is 2.
Throwing - Measure a distance 3 meters between where the child stands and a hoola hoop.  Have the child throw 10 bean bags into (or as close as they can to) the hoola hoop.  If the child gets all 10 in, continue until he/she misses.  Record the number of bean bags in the hoola hoop.
Catching - This is a paired event. Have two children stand 3 meters apart.  Get them to throw a bean bag between the two of them as many times as they can without dropping the bean bag.  Count how many times in a row they can throw it back and forth within a minute.
