Beyond Ourselves partners together with four community schools in Zambia to help bring much needed education, nutrition and basic medical care to the orphans and vulnerable children in those communities.
Government education in Zambia is considered to be free, however nearly all of these schools require hidden costs such as ‘commitment fees’ and the requirement to have a school uniform and shoes. These costs disable many caregivers from being able to send their children to school. In light of this, community schools, who offer education without any additional cost, are being built aroud Zambia to help educate those unable to afford government education.
Beyond Ourselves is helping to build community schools in the Copperbelt region of Zambia. It is our belief that with the help of this style of education, children’s futures will be bright and hopeful and those employed through the building and running of these schools (builders, teachers, cooks etc) will also benefit. Through a small investment each month, lives can be changed and in turn, communities will be transformed.
Beyond Ourselves runs a child sponsorship programme which provides free education, basic medical care and school meals to orphaned and vulnerable children. The cost is £12.50 a month (42p a day!) with 100% of the money going to Zambia, we don’t take any money for administration costs. If you are interested in sponsoring a child visit our website and download a sponsorship form today!
